Cynthia Kuni has been playing and performing in the Puget Sound region since the mid 1980’s. Her love for the harp has led to a variety of musical experiences through the years. Early in her career, she was a member of The Bramble Band, which played for the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society Seattle Chapter for many years.
She studied harp privately with the well-known harpist and composer, Lynne Palmer, in Seattle. She also served as principal harpist for the Northwest Symphony Orchestra for many years. She served as president of the Greater Seattle Chapter of the American Harp Society from 1998 to 2000, and its Vice President from 2022 to 2024.
Throughout Cynthia’s career, she has enjoyed providing music for weddings, receptions, and special events. More recently, she has provided worship music at a number of Seattle area churches. Having never left behind her special love for Scottish repertoire, she still performs regularly on the Celtic harp, for local Highland Games and other events celebrating the culture of the British Isles.
